Default Fall Conditions near Crested Butte

New to the forum as we recently moved back to CO from British Columbia. Had a question for the group...We're planning a weekend trip to Crested Butte this weekend to check out the fall foliage. Would appreciate if anyone has any latest conditions on Kebler or Ohio Pass...especially curious given the crazy weather these past few days. Pretty sure that a big snowfall will not enhance the colors for this weekend....

Thanks!

Thanks for the info....too bad that the weather isn't doing any favors this year, but still planning to make the trip and hope for some good shots. Will try to post a few on my return.

Thanks again

Hi Dan,

Welcome to the forum. It has been a bit dead around here for some reason. Unfortunately, I don't have any info for you, but I have been following this thread on NPN:

Good luck with your trip, I am leaving for Ridgway on Sunday. I'm planning on visiting Ridgway regardless of reports, but if I get shut out there, I may try some other spots on the way back.

Default Kebler Pass Road

Made the trip across Kebler Pass Road today (Friday the 25th) - it sure wasn't last year's colors! Some stands of yellow aspen, but also many stands of green still and as many of bare trees - whether from disease or already lost their leaves. Of course, it's always a beautiful drive. But definitely NOT like last year. The cottonwood at the bottom of the Black Canyon were pretty.
