Jack - wow, awesome pics (as usual), esp like your trail/trees shot - I wanna be there! Guy, I really like your 2nd shot, very nice.

Just back from Escalante, Capitol Reef and area. No color at all anywhere yet, even at 9,600 ft on Boulder Mtn. The aspen do not look all that healthy to me.

Default Red Mountain Pass Again

Here's some recon snapshots from Red Mtn Pass today. It's looking good! About 50% yellow or more.

Default Cottonwood Pass - 21 Sept

Here are a couple of shots from the road on the way up to Cottonwood Pass just before sunset. Good mixture of color with things that turn colors leaning toward yellow/red. Looks like things are changing quickly. Hope the color lasts through the first weekend in Oct!

This is from this morning along Hwy-82 well east of Independence Pass. Rather than saying the pass looks good, I'll say it doesn't suck as much as it has in recent years. Hopefully that means things that usually look good will look really good this year.

I was up in RMNP yesterday and noticed quite a bit of yellow dotting the slopes surrounding Moraine Park. On the way back to Denver, I took Route 7 and saw quite a bit of color around Lily Lake and further south in the vicinity of the Wild Basin Entrance.

I was up near Kenosha Pass yesterday (9/22) and I'd say that 50-75% have turned. This picture of Jefferson Hill is a pretty good example of the progress in that area.

I checked out the Sneffels Range this morning. LOTS OF SNOW UP HIGH!!! WOOHOO! The aspens are still green though; just a couple are starting to change - probably another week to go before it really starts changing.
